What a week! I apologize for the site being down - as well as my e-mail - for almost an entire week. The domain registrar that I used when I originally purchased this domain has two critical flaws. First, they love to send e-mail. LOVE it. Every week there are "new hot specials". So my spam filters and my eyes are now quite accustomed to just skipping right over any messages from them. So when they sent my expiration notice, I apparently skipped right over that, too. My fault - I should have been more careful and not let it expire.
The second problem is entirely theirs, though. I'm not even sure where to begin or how to describe it. First, the "automated" renewal process is an absurd joke. The real-time renewal process apparently had some problems, so some time ago they decided to use a batch process to renew domain registrations. Fine. Except that it doesn't work. "Technical difficulties", according to numerous websites have plagued RegisterFly for months. Yes, you read that right - MONTHS. After reading some users' experiences, I am VERY thankful that I was back up and operating after only a week.
So, I think after I'm sure that all is well, I'll be making some adjustments and securing registration for a period longer than one year - something like ten years. :)
Again, I'm still here. Still alive. And now back on-line (including e-mail!)
