Stuff

I've always hated titles. I'm just not creative enough to form good titles. C'est la vie.

So Apple released two killer products this week at Macworld - iPhone and Apple TV. As iPhone will not be available until June and will be exclusively partnered with Cingular, I plan to wait a while to make the change to that device. I have, though, already placed an order for Apple TV. :)

Actually, even if Verizon were to offer the first generation iPhone, I think that I would wait. The price point is a bit high and the functionality a bit limited for me to be an early-adopter of this technology. Don't get me wrong - I think it's a killer device! But I've become so accustomed to what the BlackBerry has to offer, it will be difficult for me to switch to any device that doesn't act as a wireless extension of my Exchange mailbox.

Sometime last month I picked up a TomTom GO 910 to replace my Garmin Quest. I'm not entirely sure that I'm satisfied with that purchase. I knew that this device was built in Europe, but did not realize just how much more development and integration had taken place exclusively in Europe. All of the cool add-ons that sold me on the TomTom unit (traffic data, safety cams, points of interest) are available in most of Europe, but not in the US. I like the size of this unit much better than the Garmin and the suction cup that attaches the bracket to my windshield is lightyears ahead of Garmin's, but I think that Garmin definitely offers better maps. Upcoming street names appear much more swiftly on the Garmin and the spoken route directions seem to be slightly more detailed. I'm not dissatisfied, but the rather high price point of the GO 910 does make me wish that I had the ability to testdrive it before buying.

Stella had some relatively minor surgery to remove a cyst and a (most-likely) benign adenoma. Unfortunately her incisions aren't healing quite as rapidly as we would like. No cause for concern, but she is having to sport a plastic lampshade around her neck to keep her from licking the incisions. It's going to be a long six days until her sutures come out...

Lots of big projects that have been in planning stages are now coming into action phases around the office. Business growth is a good thing! We have several challenges to face, but there are far worse "problems" to have than coping with business growth!
